Sonny Zinn

Treasurer

I remember so clearly the hours, energy, and love that my parents, Ron and Marlies West, poured into the Boulder Dushanbe Sister City organization; helping to get the Teahouse built, creating a reciprocal gift for Dushanbe, and being welcomed as part of a Boulder delegation in Tajikistan. Now I have come full circle as the current treasurer, reprising the role that my father had for years. Born and raised in Boulder (as were my two daughters), I have had the good fortune to travel extensively in Europe and Asia, including spending a semester in Istanbul as a student at Boğaziçi University. My career was spent in Boulder Valley and Denver Public Schools as a teacher and an administrator. Today, my days are filled with hours riding and caring for horses at Nighthawk Equestrian Center, and most recently, as a part of The Conversation, socially conscious theater currently producing the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict.
