PAST EVENTS
Maruf Mirahmatov is a master artisan from Khujand, Tajikistan. He is a fifth-generation artisan who works with traditional design motifs and their applications. His grandfather, Mirpulat, was one of the artisans in Tajikistan who helped design and execute the construction of our wonderful Teahouse (Chaikhana).

A Tajik delegation of athletes, coaches, and disability-sports advocates visited Boulder in late October through the Sports for At-Risk Youth program, touring local organizations like the CU Recreation Center, Ignite Adaptive Sports, and the Corner Boxing Club. Hosted with a reception at the Boulder-Dushanbe Teahouse, the visit was full of warm exchanges and unplanned highlights, celebrating the ongoing friendship between Boulder and Dushanbe.
In September 2022, BDSC board members traveled through Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, taking in sites like Samarkand's Registan and Sarazm's Seven Lakes. In Dushanbe, they visited the Friendship Center, met with the Deputy Mayor to discuss its future, and reconnected with old friend Maruf Mirahmatov, who had worked on the Teahouse.
