Maya Vakhobova

Co-Vice President

Muyassara (Maya) Vakhobova was born in Kanibadam, a small city in the north of Tajikistan. It's in Ferghana Valley, close to the border with Uzbekistan and also, one of the cities of the Silk Road. Maya graduated from the State Teacher Training University in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. She has been living in Denver, CO since September 2010 and currently, works at Mile High Internal Medicine as front desk/receptionist. Maya used to work at the US Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan from 1993 until 2010 before she moved to Denver, CO. She learned a lot doing cultural and educational exchange programs at the Public Diplomacy Section of the Embassy. The Teahouse project was one of Maya’s favorite projects and she was honored to be involved in the Teahouse project. Thanks to this Teahouse project, she personally met Tajik artists, worked on their trip to Colorado and was lucky to make new friends in Boulder. This experience brought Maya to Boulder Dushanbe Sister Cities Organization.
