Sophia Stoller

Board member

Sophia was born in 1947, in New York City. As a young child, my family lived in an Ukrainian Eastern rite monastery. Sophia attended a Quaker High School and graduated from George Washington University in 1970 with a degree in Anthropology. Sophia and her husband Peter moved to the Boulder area in 1971 after spending time in the highlands of Southern Mexico. Sophia is one of the people who organized the Soviet City Project in 1982 and eventually identified Dushanbe as Boulder’ future sister city. She has been a member of the BDSC board off and on since that time. Sophia’s main interest focused on people to people exchanges especially with the FLEX program hosting Tajik high school students in Boulder.
