Aldona A Siczek was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland. She holds M.E in Chemical Engineering from Politechnika Warszawska and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from The University of Chicago. She worked at Polish Academy of Sciences, Argonne National Laboratory and her company Altairex Inc. In her retirement, she started volunteering. Feeling strongly that the beautiful gift of the Tajik Teahouse should be reciprocated, she joined Boulder Dushanbe Sister Cities in 2006 and worked on fundraising events: Annual Friendship Tea, Boulder Chorale Jubilate at Macky Auditorium and others. She was elected to the Board in 2008 and became an assistant treasurer. From 2011 to 2016 she served as Treasurer. She is also on the Board of FIDOS.org. She has traveled extensively; enjoys exercising, hiking, skiing and ocean sailing.
