On the Occasion of the Groundbreaking for the Cyber Cafe for Dushanbe

To the People of Dushanbe, Tajikistan:

As Mayor of the City of Boulder, it is with great honor that I have this opportunity to represent the people of Boulder, Colorado, United States of America, and to express to you our joy and gratitude for the gift of the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse. Your gift has been received with utmost gratitude, both for the way it expresses with so much beauty the culture of the Tajik people, and how it serves to remind the people of Boulder of the friendship between our two cities.

In return, we give this gift of a community center for understanding and communication so as to further the friendship we share. It is our humble intent to give to the people of Dushanbe a building that reflects the culture of the people of Boulder. Please accept our gift and use it in the manner that best serves the interests of the people of Dushanbe.

As the Mayor of the City of Boulder and as representative of the people of Boulder, I would like to express that we look forward to a future with the continued friendship we share.
